Marking the Merz Akademie’s 33rd anniversary and the centenary of the Merz Bildungswerk, the independent Research and Intervention Group RIG was established by Ronald Kolb with Hannah Horst, Jana Thierfelder, Lukas Ludwig, Florian Model. The initiative revisited the experimental educational principles of the institution’s founder, Albrecht Leo Merz, and their later development into an approach combining artistic and design practice with humanities-based methods, social engagement, and cultural studies.
